Will e-bikes become auto retail’s next big product?

E-bikes and automotive vehicles are considered separate “vehicles” in many respects, with a different target audience, but it is only a matter of time before the two products are leveraged by dealers.

Case in point: eBliss Global, an e-mobility solutions company in the United States, has partnered with Pretra Automotive Products, also in the U.S., to bring e-bikes to automotive retailers. The agreement means that eBliss can benefit from Petra’s North American dealership partners for the delivery, setup, and support of its ALWAYS e-bikes.

“This gives our dealer partners access to a fun and innovative new product they can use to capture those drivers who want freedom of movement regardless of vehicle ownership,” said Arnold Gacita, CEO and President of Petra Automotive, in a statement. “E-Bikes are a logical addition for dealership showrooms.”

The bikes are described by eBliss Global as a low-maintenance line designed exclusively for auto dealerships. The company wants to change how American consumers think about transportation.

“We want to meet customers who may have never considered an e-bike before where they already buy vehicles,” said Dave Boyle, Head of Automotive at eBliss Global, in a statement. “We are ecstatic to be partnering with Petra Automotive Products, a company these dealers know and trust, to help facilitate future relationships with auto dealerships.”

The same concept may make its way to Canada. And eBliss only just launched this year.
