A new Genesis Retail Experience facility opened for business in Ottawa, Ont., this fall. At 21,000 square-feet, the company has described it as the brand’s largest such facility in North America.
This is one of the Dilawri Automotive Group’s newest retail facilities. The dealer group has been operating in the city for more than 49 years and is the only Genesis distributor in Ottawa. The new store is located on 1 Laster Street.
“We are eager to service the needs and exceed the expectations of guests in the Ottawa and surrounding areas,” said the Dilawri Automotive Group’s President Shiv Dilawri in a statement.
Dilawri was among the many people in attendance for the grand opening this fall, along with Mike Song, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Genesis and Don Romano, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. Eric Marshall, Director of Genesis Canada, also took part in the opening ceremony.
Development of the facility launched in the fall of 2022. At the time, Romano said the ground-breaking ceremony marked a key milestone for Genesis Motors Canada. “This confirms our commitment to a new way of doing business that delivers industry-leading customer experiences across every touchpoint, from test drive and acquisition to service,” he said in a statement.
The new facility includes a 10-car showroom, a Private Brand Cube where customers can customize their vehicle materials and specifications, a lounge that seats 20 people, and a live-wall garden. Among other things, it also features a service drive-thru area, six electric vehicle labs and charging stations, and a vehicle delivery and test drive area enclosed entirely in glass.
These retail centres are also known for allowing consumers to freely transition between online and in-person services, providing them with the ability to complete all of their transactions online.
