Survey project to inform dealers about what customers think and feel

Canadians have LOTS of ideas and impressions about Canadian auto dealers, automotive brands, and the vehicle purchasing experience.

If only dealers could get inside the heads of their customers, they’d be in a much better position to adapt their approach and, if needed, counter any negative impressions they might encounter.

Canadian auto dealer is teaming up with the leading research firm Harris/Decima Research in Toronto to send out regular surveys that will poll a cross-section of Canadian consumers from coast-to-coast to get answers you need to help your business do better.

We have our own list of questions we’d like answered such as:

  • How ready are consumers to engage with their dealerships in social media channels and what type of experience do they want to have?;
  • How well informed about their own products and their competitors do consumers expect the salespeople to be at the dealership when they arrive?;
  • What do consumers perceive that the aftermarket is doing better in service and what do they now expect from their dealership?

But that’s what’s on our mind. Canadian auto dealer wants to ensure dealer’s get to ask their questions. To kickstart the process, we invite you to submit your questions to us before February 28th and we’ll enter your name into a random draw to win an Apple iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G tablet!

But the questions won’t end after our promotion is over. We want to regularly measure the pulse of your customers.

Our research partner, Harris / Decima Research, is a leading provider of research and consulting to business and governments in Canada. The survey results will be presented by experienced industry analyst, Richard Cooper, who is a Senior Vice-President in the company’s Toronto office.

Richard has 30 years of experience helping organizations understand and use customer and market information in Canada, the U.S, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa. In 1991, he turned his attention to the auto industry in Canada and led the growth of J.D. Power and Associates in Canada from 1996 to 2010. At Harris / Decima, he will be using the firm’s considerable experience and resources to continue providing answers and insights to 
the industry.

Richard comes from an auto background — his father was a dealer — so the car business is in his blood!
