iA Dealer Services has expanded their business by becoming the administrator of the Hyundai and Genesis Extended Protection Programs. The programs fully integrate all branded products, including extended warranties, replacement insurance, guaranteed asset and payment protection programs together with a full range of appearance protection products.

In an interview with Canadian auto dealer, Steve Clelland, Vice-President, OEM Relationships for iA Dealer Services, said the new arrangement is part of iA’s long term strategy.

“We understand that the direction of automotive retail in North America is changing for a lot of obvious reasons. The customer journey is being looked at by all manufacturers under much tighter scrutiny. We have a very strong value proposition to be able to bring a positive spin to those touch points through the products that they purchase through the F&I journey under the branded portfolio.”

Available to consumers at Hyundai dealerships and Genesis distributors across Canada, these protection products will be administered by iA Dealer Services beginning March 1, 2023, with a lease-end protection product being released ahead of the broader program on October 1, 2022. The program is voluntary.

“We are delighted that Hyundai and Genesis Canada have placed their confidence in us. Hyundai and Genesis together are among the most dynamic and fast-growing brands in Canada”, said Gwen Gareau, Senior Vice-President at iA Dealer Services. “They are also very advanced in their electrical vehicle lineup and roadmap, which is in line with our vision of sustainable development. We already work with almost 50 per cent of the Hyundai retailers and Genesis distributors across Canada, and 73 per cent in Quebec. Together with HMF and GF, we will build the branded program and deliver greater dealer and customer value.” she said. “With over 60+ years in this business Canada-wide, we have developed a wealth of experience and expertise that has made us the market leader in Canada. We look forward to working with HMF, GF and their retailers across the country.”

iA Dealer Services distributes creditor insurance products (life, disability, loss of employment and critical illness) and property and casualty (P&C) products. P&C products include extended warranties, replacement warranties and guaranteed asset protection products along with a full range of ancillary products.

“At the end of the day, it’s undeniable that the consumer wants more control over their buying journey and their ownership experience. I think that’s the main reason why the OEMs are looking at all facets of their business – including all profit centers and all operating departments – they want to make sure that when a customer brings their Hyundai or Genesis back to the dealer agency, that they’re going to have their best interests looked after and feel that they had a pleasant and seamless experience.”
