Vehicle e-commerce platform Carnex dives into the EV resale market

On January 17, Ontario-based vehicle e-commerce platform Carnex.ca announced its official transition into the electric vehicle resale market.

The transition will allow consumers to buy and sell electric vehicles through its EV-only platform.

“As nations race to transform their energy sector to reduce carbon emissions, renewable energy will play a pivotal role in the future economy, with electric vehicles being a crucial option for consumers,” said Carnex Founder and CEO Bruce Wu.

The company said it created a seamless online experience for consumers to review and buy EVs much like they would buy other consumer products online.

In its news release, Carnex said consumers can review things like images and vehicle performance specifications, among other things, and that it will also provide aftermarket services tailored for EVs—including test drives, charging products and services, EV accessories, and educational and technical support.

“Most major EV manufacturers such as Tesla, Rivian, Lucid and Nio are still employing a direct sale approach to their customers,” said Wu. “Carnex hopes to fulfill this service gap.”

The company said its core team includes more than 10 industry experts, as they aim to offer a complete online and offline shopping experience to Canadians.
