Kijiji launches podcast matching average wait time for factory-ordered cars

Kijiji will launch a five month-long podcast called “Wait-listening” for Canadian car buyers waiting for their factory-ordered vehicles.

The name Wait-listening, and the ridiculously long podcast itself, aims to highlight the average wait time for factory-ordered vehicles in Canada. Kijiji advises listening to the podcast, or checking out its autos website to shop for a vehicle that is currently in-stock.

“There’s as much reason to wait five months for a new car as there is to listen to a five month-long podcast,” said Adam Jardine, CMO at Kijiji, in a statement. “In fact, a recent survey commissioned by Kijiji found that only 16 per cent of Canadians are actually willing to wait five or more months for a factory-ordered car, with millennials aged 27-42 making up the largest portion of this group.”

The podcast is powered by ChatGPT, an artificial-intelligence chatbot, and will cover a range of automotive-related topics — from electric vehicles to the history of car manufacturing. A virtual host will share content 24/7 and generate the audio using Text to Speech AI. The content will be provided in English and French.

You can listen to the five month-long podcast here.

Or, you can lean on your OEM to speed up the vehicle deliveries so that your customers don’t have to wait or listen to an AI podcast.
