Honda Indy attendees and Ontario dealers raise $100K for Make-A-Wish

One hundred thousand dollars was raised for Make-A-Wish Canada during the 2023 Honda Indy Toronto event, thanks to the help of race fans, the Honda Canada Foundation (HCF), and the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA).

The proceeds will help support wish granting for children living with critical illnesses. Attendees of the Honda Indy Toronto event were encouraged to make a voluntary contribution to the non-profit organization. All donations were double-matched by the HCF.

“Everyone at Make-A-Wish is grateful for the exceptional support from Indy race fans, Honda Canada Foundation and Ontario Honda Dealers Association who have generously donated over $1 million over the last 12 years,” said Meaghan Stovel McKnight, CEO of Make-A-Wish Canada.

Stovel extended her gratitude to everyone who supported Make-A-Wish through the Honda Indy, which she said will help bring “strength and joy into the lives of children facing critical illness.”

According to the non-profit, research shows that fish granting helps children build physical and emotional strength to fight their critical illness. Make-A-Wish Canada has granted more than 37,000 wishes since 1983.
